Known around the world by its infamous nickname "The Capital of Silicon Valley" San Jose is the largest city in the Bay Area, the third largest in California, and the 10th largest city in the nation. The cost of living in San Jose and the surrounding areas is among the highest in California and the United States. Almost 40 percent of all venture capital funds in the U.S are invested in San Jose, and its residents are responsible for producing more U.S patents than any other city.

Booming technology and many high-tech companies made the city famous, but the Bay Area's commitment to its citizen's quality of life is making the city green. The city's green thinking started in the late 90s and today many of it's significant municipal landmarks are state- of -the art LEED certified green buildings, including the San Jose City Hall, San Jose Airport, Mayfair Community Center, and Happy Hollow Park and Zoo.

The San Jose weather offers residents 300+ days of sunshine with near perfect temperature of 73 degrees. The downtown area is almost cosmopolitan due to its cultural arts centers like Ballet San Jose, Opera San Jose, San Jose Museum of Art and the San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art. Major and minor league sports teams, the San Jose Sharks, the San Jose Giants and the San Jose Earthquakes serve up championship sports. Parks and outdoor destinations provide wildlife sanctuaries, trails, hiking, biking, fishing, boating and camping for residents and tourists to take advantage of throughout the year.
